Welcome to another Bipolar Disorder support video from Polar Warriors. So many of us feel like we’ve tried just about every Bipolar treatment option out there to no avail. I personally know the frustrations of medication side-effects, trying to find a (good) doctor or therapist, being able to afford medications, coping with symptoms – you name it! It’s really common for people to give up on meds or treatment for a while, only to come back and try it all over again at a later time. For me personally, it took a while after a bad treatment experience for me to be ready for another go at it. I’d usually return to “the path” when I’d get desperate enough to not go through a bad episode again.
My approaches to treating Bipolar Disorder were all very similar… Go back to the doctor, get on some meds again, and try to watch what food or substances I’d put in my body. I kept experiencing the same frustrating results until I realized that my approach to treating the Bipolar was a big part of the problem. I needed some fresh ideas and a new approach, so I asked some very skilled counselors about this. They provided me with some tips that became the foundation of a very successful treatment approach for me. I’d like to share some of them with you all in hopes that it might help make your journey a little less bumpy.
